So the Train the Trainers seminar is over now. We had the most wonderful participants, who were and are now even more excited about discovering themselves and giving trainings and facilitating.

We'll share some photos of the seminar soon. Here are some thoughts of one particular participant, Chi Khanh Dang's, who became the leader of the Tampere Trainer Pool.

"I thought I could write many many things.
In the end, I didn't know how to put these feelings into words.
They are so wide and overwhelming.
Still, I want to thank all of the participants for giving me such a great and wonderful time.
I will remember a seminar with full of new and useful information, yet full of fun and happiness at the same time.
I will remember how the facis prepared all the sessions with the most efficient usage of time. It was quite easier-to-breath during the seminar with exercises in the mornings, long breaks, and icebreakers. Massage did help a lot, too. :p
And thank you for giving us a "safe chance" to practice our training skills.
And I will remember that feedback is a gift. Be honest. Never sacrifice it.
Remember as long as we have knowledge, skills and attitude, we can do anything.
Remember to listen, and share ....

You know, I was so emotional that I thought I could cry when we were all there, holding the scarf and saying whatever we want to share. I didn't want to believe that I was going to leave you, leave that heavenly place and be back to normal life.
At the same time, I knew, "you can only show me the door. I'm the one who has to walk through it", right?
So now, I'm inspired to move on with courage.
Because of you, TtT participants."

Nice little questionnaires... find out what you are;)

If you have ever wondered how you can learn best, you can now check what kind of learner (visual, auditory or kinesthetic) you are by doing this questionnaire, or this one.

There's also a bunch of different personality types test. Here is one of the most known ones (explanations to the results are here).

To the very least these tests are entertaining if nothing else - so why not try filling in those? ;)

Where can I find more info of NTT & NTP?

Info about National Trainers Team (NTT) and National Trainers Pool (NTP) can be found from these places in myaiesec.net:

    National Trainers Team (NTT) wiki

    National Trainers Pool (NTP) wiki

And.. Now is the time to apply to the NTT!! If you like training and facilitating then this opportunity is the right one for you! National Trainers Team is a team working on national level and making sure that we have large number of members with ability to give trainings on local and national level, as well as create general training culture of AIESEC in Finland. The application is now opened and will be closed on 20th March. You can find the application from here.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

    sunnuntai 15. helmikuuta 2009

    Shhhh....this is sneaky stuff....

....just wanted to give a warning for those who are not ready in order to get ready: the applications for the next National Trainers Team will be opening up pret-ty soon. So, what, are you still hesitating?? Then this is the time to ask questions from the current NTT! For instance right here in the comments section:)

But what does it mean to be a member of the NTT ?
Oh well, it can mean a lot of things. But mainly you as a member of the NTT can put things into priority order as you see fit. As this is still quite a new team (this is the 2nd team at the moment) there is a lot new to be developed. So far we have concentrated on making quality Train the Trainer seminars (twice a year) and Train the Advanced seminar (once a year). In addition to this our other priority has been trying to create training culture in AIESEC in Finland by creating trainers pool & giving support & sessions in national seminars.

But maybe you're thinking you do not know enough of training/facilitation in order to become a NTT member?
    Who would be suitable?
Do not worry, you don't need to know everything about anything, the most important thing is that you have the willingness&eagerness for this job and truly want to train future AIESEC Finland trainers. Also what is very important for this job, is that you have the time for it & that you are able to work online a lot, since it's not often possible for NTT members to see face to face in other times than in seminars. If you are interested about being in NTT, but do not know about training/facilitation we still have our trainings this spring - TtT in Jyväskylä and TtAT in Tampere - which to participate, where'll you'll get all the information you need (and some more;).

But what is it like to be in the NTT?
For one thing, which I am not kidding I swear, it is a hellofalot fun!! Especially after a training once I see that participants have actually enjoyed as much as I did or learnt something new, it is really an empowering feeling to yourself as well! Sure working in NTT is not always just fun (especially when it comes down to writing outputs, which btw, I still swear I will deliver on one beautiful day;) but all learning comes through struggles & challenges. The best thing in this team -as in any other I suppose - is that you can always share with other team members what ever you're feeling. And enjoy the ride because the more you give the more you get!
    Still thinking? Maybe, yes, definitely??!

    sunnuntai 1. helmikuuta 2009
